St George seated astride a black dappled horse wearing a gilded helmet and blue wrap, holding a gilded shield and metal spear a recumbent green Dragon at their feet; all on green rockwork bases enriched with large colourful flower heads.  Peal glazed earthenware with overglaze enamel and silver lustre painted decoration.  Impressed mark "WOOD & CALDWELL", reverse incised "Burslem" in white cartouche.  Height 21.5cm or 24.5cm.  Image on page 165 of "English Earthenware Figures", by Pat Halfpenny, published 1991.
